Synergy ESCO – The Green Initiative Program is an Energy Savings Program designed to help achieve Carbon Zero by 2050. The program focuses on reducing carbon footprints and energy consumption by promoting the use of energy-efficient light bulbs. This initiative is a significant step towards a sustainable future, showcasing Synergy ESCO's commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible energy use.

Clients can switch to Synergy ESCO energy-efficient LED lights with zero upfront cost, allowing for immediate energy savings and environmental benefits. The monthly savings are allocated as fees to Synergy ESCO, with the remainder benefiting the savings of the JMB/MC(s).

The tenure of Synergy ESCO's Green Initiative Program is 10 years, structured as an initial 5-year term with an auto renew for an additional 5 years.

Yes, they can. However, Section 21(3) of the Strata Management Act (SMA) restricts Joint Management Bodies (JMB) from entering contracts for maintenance and management of the building that exceed 12 months. The section states:

"The joint management body shall not enter any contract relating to the maintenance and management of any building or land intended for subdivision into parcels and the common property in the development area for any period exceeding twelve months."

To comply with regulations, JMBs can sign contracts with an auto-renewal clause on a 1+1+1 basis. Conversely, Management Corporations (MCs) face no such restrictions and can directly sign a 5-year contract, which can be auto-renewed for an additional 5 years.

To participate in the Green Initiative Program, the following minimum requirements must be met:
  • A minimum of 300 light fixtures must be installed in the common areas of the strata, operating on a timer for at least 12 hours a day.
  • The strata must have no outstanding credits with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
  • There should be no ongoing legal cases involving the strata.

Yes, commercial buildings, including office towers, malls, and more, can join the Green Initiative Program, provided they meet the program's requirements.
